The Position:

ACET is seeking an Avionics Technician II at our MCAS New River (Jacksonville, NC) location.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a CDI from the primary discipline of MOS 6324 during the contract duration.
  • Performsroutine aircraft maintenance functions.
  • Performsquality technical inspectionof aircraft,aircraftcomponents, parts, repairs, and systems (including avionics,electrical, instrument and armament) as requiredby functionalassignment.
  • Performsquality and safety inspections of on-siteequipmentand tools used in aircraftmaintenance, vehicles, andequipment.
  • Performsinitial, in-progress and finalquality technicalinspectionsduring maintenance,repair, modification, rework, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, and component parts, and overhaul of aircraft, aircraft components, andcomponentparts.
  • Provides technical guidance, instructions, andinterpretation ofwritten instructionsandprocedures to techniciansas requiredto assure acceptable quality work andflight line services.
  • Assistsin preparation, processing, and answering ofProductQuality Deficiency Reports (PQDRs).
  • Operatesaircraft towingequipment in towing operations.Maintains aircraft hydraulic systems.
  • Performspreventive maintenance inspections onaircraft andaircraft systems and subsystems.
  • Performsaircraft maintenance toinclude inspection,operational test, repair, and modification of aircraftelectrical/avionics systems.
  • Demonstratesin-depth knowledge of applicablemaintenance/technical manuals and publications,and specialtools andtest equipment.
  • Possess a thorough working knowledge of the detection,prevention and treatment of corrosion.
  • Performsthe troubleshooting andrewiring of complexavionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies andmodifications.
  • Provides technicalassistance, guidance and instruction asrequired.
  • Whenassigned to the flight line, provide customer supportduring launch and recovery and aircraft security asrequired.
  • Performstroubleshooting, repair, modifications,corrosioncontrol and preservationof aircraft and aircraft systems andaircraft sub-systems.
  • Performsfunctionalchecks, inspections, troubleshooting asrequired andtrained.
  • May be requiredto performMaintenance Operational Checks(MOCs)
  • Completes maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years rotary wing aviation experience.
  • One (1) year prior experience as a Collateral Duty Inspector on USMC UH-1 or AH-1 aircraft or similar aircraft.
  • High schooldiploma orequivalent General EducationalDevelopment (GED) certificate
  • U.S Citizen and must pass a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Common access card.
  • Must meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position.
  • Demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, engines and component parts.
  • Must be familiar with operationalcapabilities and limitationsof electrical/avionics systems.
  • Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, technical manuals, and use measuring instruments, gauges, tools, and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of the proper use of hand tools in aircraft maintenance.
  • Able to read and write, and interpret and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, and directives, guides and forms used on the job.
  • Must showproficiencyinthe use of OOMA after assignment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secretclearance.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
  • Must be able to work in areas that require awkwardposturing,bending, kneeling,squatting, to include working overhead.
  • Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
  • Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
  • If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
  • If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
  • Travel may be required.
