Rio Staffing seeks an Avionics Technician to work onsite in the Dayton, Ohio area on general aviation piston aircraft. The role focuses on troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of avionics systems in a modern environment.

You will work with glass cockpit platforms, perform wiring harness work, and ensure compliance with FAA standards. This is a full-time, day-shift opportunity with comprehensive benefits and reliable schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years avionics troubleshooting on general aviation piston aircraft.
• Glass cockpit platforms experience (Garmin G1000/G3000, Avidyne Entegra).
• Proficient with AC43.13 wiring techniques and harnessing.
• Must be able to commute to Dayton facility.
• Own a complete personal set of basic hand tools and avionics tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
• Perform avionics suite retrofits, glass-cockpit installations, and component upgrades.
• Fabricate, route, and repair aircraft wiring harnesses using standard practices.
• Assist with pitot-static and transponder tests per Part 91.411 and 91.413.
• Interpret maintenance data and complete service records accurately.

We are seeking a skilled Avionics Technician to join their team on a full-time, Monday–Friday Day Shift. Key Responsibilities

• Avionics Inspection & Troubleshooting: Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair complex aircraft avionics, navigation, communication, and electrical systems on general aviation aircraft.

• System Installations & Upgrades: Perform avionics suite retrofits, glass-cockpit installations, and component upgrades in accordance with FAA regulations and manufacturer specifications.

• Wiring & Harness Fabrication: Fabricate, route, and repair aircraft wiring harnesses utilizing standard AC43.13 aircraft wiring practices, precision crimping, and soldering techniques.

• Certifications & Compliance: Assist with bi-annual pitot-static and transponder systems tests and recertifications (Part 91.411 and Part 91.413 standards).

• Technical Documentation: Interpret complex technical data including wiring schematics, maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, Service Bulletins (SBs), and Airworthiness Directives (ADs). Complete all required maintenance records accurately.

Requirements & Qualifications

Mandatory Requirements:

• Avionics Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience performing avionics troubleshooting, wiring, and installations on general aviation piston aircraft.

• Glass Cockpit Familiarity: Direct experience working with modern GA integrated avionics platforms (e.g., Garmin G1000/G3000, Avidyne Entegra, or similar glass flight decks).

• Wiring Standards: Demonstrated proficiency with AC43.13 aircraft wiring techniques, harness construction, pin-outs, and system integration.

• Commute / Location: Ability to commute reliably to the facility in Dayton (commutable distance)

• Tooling: Must possess a complete personal basic set of hand tools and specialized avionics tools suitable for aircraft electrical maintenance.

• Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined aircraft cabin environments, and perform bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.

• Active FCC Commercial Radio Operator License or NCATT AET Certification.

• Prior experience working within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station environment.
