Summary and Objective

Avionics Technician – 1 are responsible for inspecting and testing the complex electrical and computer systems that allow aircraft to function. They oversee an airplane's radar system, radio communications equipment and the flight controls. Avionics technicians ensure that these systems are functioning properly before a plane or helicopter takes off. When a problem is found, avionics technicians must repair it before the aircraft can be cleared for takeoff. Avionics technicians also assemble and install electrical components and keep detailed written records of repair work performed on aircraft.

  • Install Garmin G5000 avionics systems/Gogo Wifi systems/Smartsky Wifi systems/Starlink Wifi systems in various aircraft types according to manufacturer specifications and flyExclusive standards and Perform pre-installation testing and verification to ensure all components are functioning properly.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to Garmin G5000 avionics/Gogo Wifi/Smartsky Wifi /Starlink Wifi system installations.

  • Conduct post-installation inspections and tests to ensure systems are operational and meet all regulatory and safety requirements.

  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to ensure seamless integration of the Garmin G5000 avionics/Gogo Wifi /Smartsky Wifi /Starlink Wifi systems with other aircraft systems.

  • Maintain aircraft and maintenance facility in clean, organized and professional manner with particular attention to safety.

  • Line duties and road trips, as required.

  • Complete and expedite all documentation as directed by lead mechanic

  • Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.

  • Responsible for safeguarding and maintaining Company assets.

  • Maintain all paperwork in accordance with Company Maintenance Policies and Procedures

  • Maintain facilities and equipment to the highest state of readiness and reliability.

  • Maintain the highest level of personal training and readiness to perform assigned tasks.

  • Adhere to Company policy and procedure.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough working knowledge of blueprints, work orders and task cards to determine type of configuration and special instructions prior to installation.

  • Extensive knowledge in the process for making and repairing sheet metal, fiberglass and composite parts.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of estimating hours and materials for completing projects

  • Complete knowledge of aircraft fasteners and applications. Complete knowledge of all related skill area machines, equipment and hand tools.

  • Determining causes of operating errors and knowing what actions are needed to fix errors.

  • Basic understanding of aircraft parts, systems, and mechanics.

  • Detail-oriented with mechanical inclination.

  • Superior and careful workmanship.

  • Ability to perform consistently in a continuous fast paced environment.

  • Ability to perform basic inspections and repairs.

  • Ability to learn new skills and methods of repairs.

  • Sufficient oral and verbal communication skills, as needed, to discuss equipment malfunctions and complete reports.

Work environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and loud noise levels both inside and outside the hangar.

  • Possible exposure to a variety of extreme weather conditions.

  • Exposure to loud noises including airplane machinery and jet engines.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English

  • Extensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems and interactions

  • Thorough knowledge of current FAA regulations, IPM, and ATA codes

  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States, must provide two forms of Federal Identification

  • Candidates must successfully complete a comprehensive background check prior to employment. This includes verification of previous employment, education, criminal history, and any other relevant information necessary to determine the suitability for the position.

  • This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive role under Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and is subject to pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA guidelines

Preferred education and experience

  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant Licensepreferred

  • 1-4 years of experience performing hands-on Aircraft Maintenance

  • Prior experience with Corridor

  • Candidates with Business Corporate Jet experience will be given priority
