STS Technical Services is urgently hiring an experienced Avionics Technician to support a short-term contract on a legacy 1959 C-130 B Model aircraft in Rome, New York. This is a hands-on, high-impact assignment designed to support rapid turnaround maintenance. If you have C-130 or similar military aircraft experience and can deploy quickly, we want to hear from you.

Position Overview

In this role, you will perform avionics diagnostics, installations, and repairs on a 1959 C-130 B Model. This includes troubleshooting critical systems and supporting scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Candidates must be ready to work under DOT-regulated guidelines and contribute to an urgent maintenance window.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install avionics systems including navigation, communication, and flight controls
  • Perform inspections, continuity checks, and wiring repairs
  • Read and interpret technical orders, schematics, and aircraft wiring diagrams
  • Support all required maintenance actions in accordance with FAA and military standards
  • Complete maintenance documentation and records in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of avionics maintenance experience
  • C-130 or similar military transport aircraft experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with legacy avionics systems and older aircraft configurations
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and testing procedures
  • Eligible to work in a DOT-regulated position
  • Must be available and ready to start by June 1st
  • All lodging, meals, and transportation covered for the duration of the contract
  • Work on a legacy military aircraft in a fast-paced support environment
