Job summary

NorthState Aviation is seeking an avionics technician for installation, inspection, testing, and repair of radio, radar, and navigation systems in both narrow- and wide-body aircraft.

The role requires hands-on work with wiring diagrams, manuals, and ERP systems, with emphasis on safety, documentation, and adherence to FAA standards. A high school diploma or GED is required; A&P is preferred, plus an FCC license and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 months of relevant avionics experience on narrow- and wide-body aircraft.
• Familiarity with avionics techniques, terminology, and parts.
• Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals.
• Proficient in English; FAA communications.
• Valid Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, adjust, and repair avionics equipment.
• Troubleshoot avionics system issues using wiring diagrams and manuals.
• Plan and execute installation of avionics assemblies and systems.
• Operate ground support and test equipment for functional tests.
• Read and comply with maintenance manuals to locate and service components.
• Identify and repair discrepancies using manufacturer manuals.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of electrical theory.
• Use tools such as soldering irons, oscilloscopes, voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters.
• Lift and carry tools and parts; work in various positions.
• Follow safety procedures and utilize safety equipment.
• Communicate in English regarding work activities per FAA requirements.
• Maintain records: work orders, logs, and time/material records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
