Job summary

Sterling Helicopter is seeking an Avionics Technician in Croydon, PA to troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain aircraft avionics and wiring systems in a FAA-regulated environment. You will diagnose discrepancies, analyze performance data, and ensure proper documentation and safety practices during hangar maintenance.

The role requires 3–5 years of avionics experience, helicopter familiarity with major OEMs, relevant certifications, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years avionics technician experience in civilian aviation preferred.
• Civilian helicopter experience preferred with Airbus, Bell, Leonardo, and Sikorsky aircraft.
• FCC GROL or NCATT AET certification preferred.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate preferred.
• Must possess a basic set of tools for aircraft maintenance.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must successfully complete required pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, test, remove, repair, replace, and install aircraft avionics, electrical, instrument, and wiring systems.
• Diagnose aircraft discrepancies and perform repairs using applicable data.
• Analyze test data to evaluate equipment operation.
• Test electrical and avionics systems to verify proper operation.
• Identify parts and materials needed to complete work.
• Document work performed on work orders and maintenance records.
• Perform in-flight evaluation and adjustments when required.
• Maintain avionics test equipment, tools, and work areas safely.
• Perform off-site maintenance or inspections as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
