Job description

An Avionics Technician III job is available with our client in Englewood, CO. As an Avionics Technician, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations. To be considered for this role, you will have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience. A current active Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at the time of hire.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations.
  2. Responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics components, and maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals.
  3. Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps.
  4. Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity. Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
  5. Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes.
  6. Occasionally lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
  7. Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
  8. Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials.
  9. Frequently exposed to loud noises.
  10. Responsible for the safety or security of people or property.
  11. Inspects, handles, or transports explosives, dangerous or hazardous materials. Inspects structures, equipment or vehicles.
  12. Operate or supervise vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment or machinery.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Must be a US Citizen.
  2. Current Active Secret Clearance Required.
  3. High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  4. 5 or more years of relevant experience.
  5. A higher-level degree may substitute for experience OR related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
  6. Must have own tools in good working order.
  7. Ability to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings.
  8. Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Soldering and welding experience.
  2. Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL.
  3. Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment.
  4. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.
