Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an Avionics Development Project Engineer for the FQ-42 Aircraft Program.

You will lead system-level avionics design, integration, and test, coordinating with boards and engineers to deliver compliant, safe, and robust solutions. The role requires extensive engineering leadership, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive documentation, requirements development, and project plans in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering and progressive engineering experience.
• Strong technical leadership and the ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate workloads.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to interface with departments and customers.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Determines technical objectives for advanced engineering problems.
• Acts as prime technical contact for assigned projects/programs.
• Provides direction to staff and leads development and implementation of engineering solutions.
• Plans, deploys, tests, documents, and ensures safety/compliance of solutions.
• Coordinates maintenance of engineering solutions including documentation and reporting.
• Represents the company and communicates with management and external partners.
