Job summary

Belcan is seeking Avionics Systems Engineers in Phoenix, AZ (85027) with 5+ years in avionics to design, develop, and test safety-critical embedded software for TCAS and CNS applications. Relocation assistance available, direct full-time or contract (W2) options.

Responsibilities include requirements decomposition in DOORS, formal reviews, cross-functional integration, and system validation with SSA activities per ARP4761.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience in avionics for aircraft/spacecraft.
• Full life cycle experience on avionics embedded systems or software for airborne systems.
• Experience analyzing and decomposing requirements in DOORS or equivalent.
• Experience developing low-level embedded systems for TCAS, transponders, ACAS, ADS-B or CNS apps.
• Working knowledge of DO-178C processes and standards.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Job description

Avionics Systems Engineer positions Phoenix, AZ 85027 are available at Belcan supporting one of our aerospace customers. We are seeking System Engineers with at least 5 years of experience and have in-depth experience in designing, developing, and testing safety-critical embedded software for Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS) and other Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) applications.

The role can be supported as direct full-time or contract (W2)

Systems Job Duties:

• Decompose and trace customer requirements down to high-level system requirements within DOORs.
• Perform formal reviews of system requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the integration between hardware and software.
• Support system validation & verification testing and certification activities.
• Support System Safety Assessment (SSA) activities while ensuring adherence to ARP4761.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Minimum of 5+ years of Systems Engineering experience in Avionics for aircraft systems and/or spacecraft systems.
• Full life cycle experience on Avionics Embedded Systems or software for other equivalent Airborne Systems.
• Experience analyzing and decomposing requirements in DOORs or equivalent requirements management databases.
• Experience developing low-level embedded systems for TCAS, transponders (TDR), Airborne Collision Avoidance System (ACAS), Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), or other CNS related applications.
• Working knowledge of DO-178C processes and standards.
• Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

• Business jet avionics experience (communications, navigation and surveillance products / applications)
• Military avionics experience (communications, navigation and surveillance products / applications)
• Experience wiring diagrams for aircraft and modified inputs from different systems to support flight tests.
• Experience developing tools to support more efficient flight test campaigns.
• Experience integrating avionics functionality and applications (Displays, FMS, Flight Controls, Datalink, Radios, Surveillance and Navigation functions).

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an salary rate of $100,000 to $185,00 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
