Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in Mesa, AZ is seeking a full-time Aircraft Systems Engineer 2 - Project Lead to guide avionics STC projects from concept through delivery.

You will coordinate with project teams to define and generate required documentation and type design data for Garmin STC efforts, and support installation documentation development. You will drive schedule, report on project status and risks to leadership, lead testing plans, and mentor junior engineers while applying FAA regulations and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering and at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Detailed knowledge of FAA certification content and aviation manuals.
• Proficient with avionics interface standards and their installations.
• Strong communication and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and FaultTree+.
• Detail-oriented with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead STC projects for avionics and flight control installations.
• Generate and review wiring diagrams and installation drawings.
• Coordinate with project leads and technicians to complete tasks.
• Assist in troubleshooting installation and wiring issues.
• Prepare and verify certification documentation.
• Support ground and bench test plans and reports.
• Interface with purchasing for parts specification.
• Provide technical analyses and recommend process improvements.
