Blue Origin LLC seeks an Avionics Sr Harness Design Engineer to lead electrical harness design for Mk1 vehicle modules. You will create WID diagrams, 3D routed harness data, and installation drawings, influencing spaceflight safety and reliability across multiple sites.

The role requires 10+ years in aerospace harness design, strong CAD skills (Creo, Zuken), and knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA specs. Travel across Seattle, Space Coast, Huntsville, Denver and LA areas may be needed.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field such as Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years designing wire harnesses for aerospace applications.
• Familiarity with Creo, Zuken, Windchill or similar high-end CAD routing tools.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power, RF, communication and high-speed data.
• Create Wiring diagrams and 3D routed harness data files.
• Develop harness installation drawings and support hardware integration.
• Mentor junior harness engineers and support verification activities.

In this role, you will develop wiring interconnect diagrams (WID), harness assembly drawings, and harness installation drawings. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.**RESPONSIBILITIES:*** Design of electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, communication and high-speed data signal* Select harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire* Create Wiring diagrams utilizing Zuken E3* Create 3D routed harness data files utilizing Creo (Pro/Engineer) Cabling* Create harness detail and installation drawings including 2D flat harness drawings from the 3D harness data sets* Design and integration of harness support brackets* Support design configuration development and trade studies* Provide technical guidance for hardware installation* Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses* Report on activity schedule and technical status* Identify opportunities for technical improvements* Informally mentor and train less experienced harness engineers**QUALIFICATIONS:****Required*** B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area* 10+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry* Familiarity with Creo, Zuken or Windchill or experience with other high-end CAD routing software such as Unigraphics NX Electrical or Catia* Understanding and application of wire derating analysis* Working knowledge and experience applying harness design and manufacturing standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4, SAE AS50881* Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software* Design for manufacturability experience**Preferred Qualifications*** Proficiency with Creo, Zuken and Windchill* Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes* Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical/mechanical systems* Experience with GD&T and ASME drawing practices### Base Pay Range for:CA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45CO applicants is $144,179.00 - $201,849.90WA applicants is $156,802.00 - $219,522.45**Other site ranges may differ** **Culture Statement**Don’t meet all desired requirements?
