Job summary

Firefly Avionics Production Technicians work closely with the Avionics and Integration teams in the design build integration and test of fully functional space launch rockets satellites and landers. This position will sit in our electronics manufacturing facility in Cedar Park Texas.

The role involves assembling avionics harnesses and flight hardware, documenting work for QA, and applying industry standards to ensure high reliability. On-site role with competitive benefits and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in wire harness assembly or box and battery assembly
• Dexterity for hands-on harness assembly for extended periods
• Ability to read planning documents, schematics, and drawings
• Attention to detail with high accuracy
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA A-620, IPC 610, IPC J STD 001 standards

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble high quality wire harnesses and electro‑mechanical assemblies
• Document work for QA inspection
• Demonstrate harness repair techniques incl. splicing, soldering, pinning
• Read and interpret planning docs, schematics, wiring diagrams
• Provide feedback to engineering on quality and manufacturing improvements
• Adhere to FOD, tool control, 5S and safety regulations
• Self-monitor progress to meet on-time delivery targets

SUMMARY

Firefly Avionics Production Technicians work closely with the Avionics and Integration teams in the design build integration and test of fully functional space launch rockets satellites and landers This work primarily includes the assembly of avionics harnesses and associated flight hardware The compensation and responsibilities will be adjusted to match the experience level and abilities of the candidate This position will sit in our electronics manufacturing facility in Cedar Park Texas

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fabricate and assemble high quality high reliability wire harnesses and electro mechanical assembliesEnsures that all work performed is properly and completely documented in preparation for QA inspectionDemonstrates effective harness repair techniques using acceptable practices including splicing soldering and pinning of wiringRead and interpret planning documents process controls schematics wiring diagrams specifications drawings manuals blueprints and engineering sketchesProvide feedback to engineering on quality discrepancy identification and manufacturing and design improvementsComply with the company FOD program tool control program 5 S program and all safety regulationsSelf monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on time delivery of all work

QUALIFICATIONS

Required 1 4 years related work experience in wire harness assembly or box and battery assemblyDemonstrates basic technical skills in electro mechanical assemblyExcellent concentration and attention to detail with first rate work efficiency and accuracyIndustry experience related to harness assembly including wire preparation connector termination and assembly soldering and layupMust have the dexterity and ability to perform hands on harness assembly for extended periods of timeBasic computer skills with the ability to use e mail and associated MS office programsExcellent communication written and verbal and teamwork skillsKnowledge of industry standards ie IPCWHMA A 620 IPC 610 IPC J STD 001 and associated assembly techniques ie crimping soldering wire preparationMentoring to fellow team members Level III team members will mentor level I and II team membersDesired Experience in a fast paced constant changing production environment with flight hardwareMilitary andor civilian aircraft production experienceCertifications in IPC 620 610 and J STD
