DC Army National Guard is seeking an Avionics Mechanic to ensure communications, navigation, and flight control systems operate correctly. You will train in performing maintenance on avionics equipment and practice using schematics and manuals.

The role emphasizes 10 weeks of Basic Training and 25 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid drill weekends and tuition assistance through the Guard.

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a HS diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old and pass a physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Maintain common and special tools and equipment.
• Maintain shop and bench stock for avionics equipment.
• Learn basic electronics theory and soldering practices.
• Inspect and repair wiring, electrical connections and instruments.
