Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks an Avionics Mechanic to maintain aircraft electrical systems, flight controls, and avionics. You will learn to perform checks, alignments, and troubleshooting as part of a disciplined military aviation team.

Responsibilities include inspecting wiring, connections, and replacing instruments, with training spanning basic Soldiering to advanced maintenance. This role offers paid training and tuition assistance as part of military benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Ages 17–35.
• Requires clearance to enlist in Army National Guard.

Responsibilities

• Perform operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and cryptographic equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals and schematic drawings.
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems including wiring, connections, and instrument repair/replacement.
