Job summary

Castelion is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer, Electrical Integration to support development and production of avionics for long-range hypersonic systems. This full-time role may be located at Allen, Texas, or Torrance, California.

You will develop and improve manufacturing processes to integrate PCBAs, electrical components and interconnects into housings and higher-level avionics assemblies, and write the work instructions and controls for safe, repeatable builds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering or related field.
• 3+ years in avionics, electronics, electrical integration, electro-mechanical assembly or high-relibility manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience integrating PCBAs or electrical components into mechanical assemblies.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, PCBA and mechanical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for PCBAs and electrical components in avionics assemblies.
• Write work instructions, assembly procedures and inspection criteria.
• Establish process controls for PCBAs installation, TIMs, gaskets, fasteners and connectors.
• Define and validate critical assembly parameters and process capabilities.
• Collaborate with Design, Test, Quality, Planning, Supply Chain to support tooling and fixtures.
• Review schematics and drawings to determine manufacturing requirements.
• Provide manufacturability feedback on assembly sequencing and access.
• Troubleshoot issues and support root-cause investigations.
• Support technicians and training on new processes.
• Assist transition of avionics hardware from development to production.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
• Improve first-pass yield, throughput and process repeatability.
