Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, FL (or El Segundo, CA) is seeking a Manager Avionics Integration Engineering 2 (S02) to lead a section of Avionics engineers and drive multiple programs in a technical capacity. The role requires a STEM degree with 9+ years of engineering experience or 7 years with a Master’s, plus an active DoD SECRET clearance or higher.

You’ll collaborate across disciplines, mentor staff, and manage resources to deliver innovative avionics solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and 9+ years of engineering experience, or 7 years with a Master’s degree.
• Experience in Avionics or related disciplines preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance (or higher) within 5 years of last investigation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a special access program clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a section of Avionics engineers (10-15 personnel).
• Hiring, developing, training, and retention of section talent. Hiring will include university and experienced candidates.
• Providing leadership and direction to team members and managing employee performance.
• Day-to-day operation of the organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues
• Collaboration and communication between Avionics Integration and program management
• Promoting the professional development of the Avionics Integration team and fostering a collaborative culture that sustains momentum around engagement, inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth, and continuous improvement
• Executing on one or more programs (IR&D to large programs) in a technical capacity
