Job summary

Bell Textron Inc. in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an Avionics Integration Engineer to develop, manage, and communicate integration and test requirements for military upgrade programs.

You will lead hardware and software integration testing, support design-to-production lifecycle, and coordinate with internal/external teams. Qualification includes a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical preferred), 2+ years of integration experience, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Prefer Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience with requirements definition, integration, and system safety.
  • Must have integration experience with avionics subsystems such as MFDs, GPS, IFF, ADS-B, TCAS, ILS, Radar Altimeter, Air Data, MUOS, SATCOM, or Datalinks.
  • Experience with RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively across multiple internal and external organizations.
  • Must build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers and enable cross-team collaboration.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and oversight of subcontractors to verify performance, cost, and schedule requirements. Works with Business Development to propose technical solutions.

Avionics Integration Engineer, AH-1Z Viper and UH-1Y Venom Team.

The Avionics Integration Engineer will be responsible for developing, managing, and communicating the integration & test requirements for military upgrade development programs to internal and external customers.

What you’ll be doing as an Avionics Integration Engineer:
  • Apply engineering principles to investigate, design, develop, implement, test, and analyze avionics systems integrations.
  • Perform hardware and software integration testing of multiple systems operating together in a systems integration lab.
  • Support all phases of development from design, qualification, integration testing, flight test, and production to meet customer requirements.
  • Create system performance specifications, interface control documents, and test plans/procedures
  • Performs air vehicle and systems level analysis to verify performance requirements are met
  • Suggest design improvements / spiral opportunities to improve current integrated avionics and weapon system capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight of subcontractors to verify performance, cost, and schedule requirements are met. Works closely with the Business Development organization to propose technical solutions to support new business opportunities.
Qualifications
Skills You Bring To This Role:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required. Prefer Electrical Engineering Degree. Bachelor's degree in other Engineering disciplines may be considered with relevant integration experience with systems required below.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience with engineering processes including requirements definition, requirements allocation, requirements validation, requirements verification, integration, configuration management, and system safety.
  • Must have integration experience with one or more of the following systems: Multi-function Displays, Digital Map, GPS, IFF, ADS-B, TCAS, ILS, Radar Altimeter, Air Data, MUOS, VHF/UHF radios, SATCOM, or Datalinks.
  • Experience with qualification to standards such as RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1760, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-464.
  • Must have the ability to communicate efficiently and effectively to coordinate across multiple internal and external organizations.
  • Must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, as well as horizontal integrations across the other teams.
  • Must be able to obtain a Security Clearance
