Lockheed Martin at NAS Pax River, Maryland, seeks an Avionics & Instrumentation Technician to maintain, inspect, and troubleshoot F-35 aircraft. You will work in a team environment, handling modification projects and testing cutting-edge systems for scheduled and unscheduled needs.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years hands-on experience in an avionics craftsman discipline or equivalent.
  • Experience with wire/connector repair, evaluation and testing.
  • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings and maintenance instructions.
  • Familiarity with maintenance information systems and documentation.
  • Experience with safety, tool control, and security programs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, modify, inspect and troubleshoot F-35 aircraft on site at Pax River.
  • Engage in both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Contribute to software, hardware, and 5th generation integration testing.
  • Support modification projects bringing prototypes to operational use.
  • Collaborate with Aeronautics, Engineering & Technology groups and customers.

Further Information About This Opportunity

This position is in NAS Pax River, Maryland.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance with an Interim Secret to start. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications
  • 3 - 5 years hands - on working experience in a 5 or 7 skill level USAF AFSC, Navy NEC, or USMC MOS Avionics Systems Craftsman discipline, or equivalent commercial experience such an FAA/FCC instrumentation license.
  • Experience with multi-facets of wire/connector repair to include but not limited to evaluation and testing.
  • Experience with reading/interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints and maintenance instructions.
  • Experience with Maintenance Information Systems such as Electronic Maintenance Instructions and Aircraft Forms Documentation.
  • Experience with Safety, Tool Control, FOD, Supply, HAZMAT, Training, Quality, and Security programs.
Desired Skills
  • F-35/F-22 experience highly desirable.
  • Previous flight test aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Aircraft Instrumentation electrical systems desired.
  • Coax troubleshooting/repair
  • Advanced test equipment proficiency
  • Data-bus knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Fiber Optic Experience
  • JEDI/ALIS Experience
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Able to support customer requested business travel.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain customer required qualifications within projected training timeline.
Pay Information
  • $35.27 - $55.70
