Job summary

Leidos seeks an Avionics Engineering Support professional to provide engineering and technical support for Hybrid SATCOM systems in defense and government aviation programs. You will assist with integration, testing, sustainment, and modernization of airborne communications across multiple aircraft while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires experience with avionics integration, SATCOM technologies, aircraft modification activities, and strong technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 2+ years.
• Experience in airborne communication systems integration and avionics troubleshooting.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support the integration, testing, and sustainment of airborne Hybrid SATCOM and avionics systems across multiple aircraft platforms.
• Assist with integration of SATCOM terminals, RF communication systems, antennas, avionics interfaces, mission equipment, and aircraft network systems.
• Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action support for avionics, SATCOM, RF, and airborne communication system issues.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation including interface control documents, installation packages, wiring diagrams, test procedures, and technical reports.
• Support laboratory, ground, and flight testing activities to verify system performance and interoperability.
• Coordinate with systems, electrical, RF, software, and network engineering teams to support end-to-end airborne communication system integration.
• Ensure compliance with aviation, cybersecurity, airworthiness, and engineering standards for SATCOM and avionics.
• Analyze system performance data and provide engineering recommendations to improve reliability and mission effectiveness.
• Participate in technical reviews, customer meetings, and program briefings to communicate status and risks.
• Support configuration management, requirements traceability, and engineering change activities.
