Job summary

PeoplePilot is seeking an experienced Avionics Hardware Design Engineer in the United States (Melbourne, FL) to design, test, and qualify electronic hardware for avionics applications.

The candidate should have strong PCB/ECAD skills, RF/microwave expertise, SPICE simulation proficiency, MATLAB use, and mandatory EMI/EMC testing experience, with DO-160 and MIL-STD-461 exposure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Electronics, Electrical, Avionics, or related field.
• 2–5 years preferred; up to 8–9 years maximum; aerospace experience beneficial.
• Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-461 preferred.
• Strong PCB/ECAD, RF/Microwave, EMI/EMC testing skills.
• Experience with MATLAB and SPICE simulations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop avionics electronic hardware.
• Perform circuit simulation and analysis using SPICE tools.
• Design and test RF/Microwave circuits and systems.
• Create and review schematics and PCB designs.
• Perform hardware testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
• Support DO-160 and MIL-STD-461 qualification and EMI/EMC testing.
• Prepare hardware specifications, requirements, and test plans.
• Analyze test failures and identify root causes.
• Work with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Support product verification, qualification, and certification activities.
