- Harness Fabrication & Wiring: Build, route, terminate, and test complex electrical wiring harnesses, including high-speed data buses, coax lines, shield terminations, and multi‑pin connectors in compliance with FAA standards.
- Panel & Console Modifications: Modify cockpit instrument panels, subpanels, and console structural elements to accommodate new displays, circuit breakers, switches, and remote units.
- System Integration & Testing: Perform comprehensive post-installation functional testing, ground checks, pitot‑static and RVSM leak checks, ramp testing, and software/database configurations.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve squawks, auto‑flight interface anomalies, and electrical power distribution faults across new installations and legacy airframe systems.
- Legacy Interfacing: Support integration of Garmin equipment with existing legacy aircraft systems, including Rockwell Collins Pro Line platforms where applicable.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure all maintenance, modification records, and return‑to‑service sign‑offs comply strictly with FAA regulations, customer specifications, and repair station quality manuals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience Level: Minimum of 3–5 years of avionics installation experience on general aviation and/or corporate/business jet aircraft.
- Garmin Expertise: Demonstrated hands‑on installation and checkout experience with Garmin G1000 / G1000NXi and/or Garmin G5000 flight decks (GTN 650/750 series experience also valued).
- Technical Literacy: Advanced ability to read, interpret, and work directly from electrical schematics, engineering wire prints, Garmin installation manuals, and STC installation drawings.
- Wiring Craftsmanship: Proven expertise in precision crimping, pin insertion/extraction, wire stripping, shield splicing, harness looming, and routing techniques.
- Legacy Avionics Knowledge: Prior experience integrating with Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 or Pro Line Fusion systems is a strong plus.
- Tools: Must provide own complete set of standard aviation hand tools and specialized avionics tooling (wire strippers, calibrated crimpers, pin extractors, digital multimeters).
- Regulations: Strong familiarity with FAA Part 43, 91, and 145 standards, as well as AC 43.13-1B/2B practices.
