Job summary

Stratolaunch seeks a high-impact Avionics Section Manager to lead a talented engineering team responsible for avionics design, integration, testing, and analysis. You will report to the Engineering Department Manager and drive technical excellence while growing the section’s capabilities.

The role emphasizes leadership, recruiting, and stakeholder collaboration to meet program goals. Travel <10% and a 9/80 schedule are noted.

Qualifications

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
• Experience recruiting and hiring technical employees.
• Demonstrated success applying analytical and critical thinking to multi-disciplinary problems.
• US Citizen with ability to obtain a DOW security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support direct reports and programs through technical guidance and peer review.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to establish technical best practices and standards.
• Lead employee development and retention initiatives.
• Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to hire engineering talent aligned with program goals.
• Lead performance management for direct reports in partnership with HR.
• Balance overhead management with program chargeable work (e.g., Bid & Proposal, IR&D).
