Job summary

Rocket Lab is seeking an Engineering Intern based at our Long Beach, CA site to contribute to the Avionics hardware development and testing for next-generation electronics in flight systems. You will work under mentorship on architecture and test campaigns, accelerating our rocket build-rate while applying engineering principles in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing engineering/physics/math degrees and have 3+ months of applied engineering experience, with a GPA of 3.0 or

AsanAvionics EngineeringIntern based at Rocket Lab’s site in Long Beach, California, you will have the opportunity tocontribute to the future architecture of Avionics, performing hardware development for the next generation of electronics across the rocket, executing test campaigns tovalidatehardware, or generating new production assets to accelerate our rocket build rate. This team is a hardware development group within Neutron Avionics, focusing primarily on the Archimedes engine and destruct system hardware used within the Flight Safety System.

As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and other employees within the department to apply your knowledge and grow your skills both technically and professionally

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS

Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s, master's or doctorate degree program in an engineering, physics or math discipline and have at least one semester of school remaining post internship

GPA of 3.0 or above

3+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE

6+ months of applied engineering experience (internship, laboratory, and personal/team project experience is applicable)

Computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/ CAM)experience

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) experience

Experience withANSYS,Siemens NX, and Altium

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to work full-time, on-site for a minimum of 12 consecutive weeks beginning May or June 2027

COMPENSATION AND OTHER BENEFITS

Pay Range CA: $28.00 USD Hourly

Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
