Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring in Seattle for an Electrical Engineer to design and qualify three-phase motor drive inverters powering New Glenn. You will own inverter development from concept through production, collaborating with controls, software, mechanical, and actuator teams to meet demanding launch vehicle requirements.

The role requires hands-on power electronics design experience, skills in motor control (FOC, PWM), and familiarity with isolated gate drives, MOSFETs/IGBTs, and lab testing. U.S.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on electrical engineering design in power electronics or MS+1 year.
• Experience designing and testing custom power electronics with switching devices.
• Familiar with PMSM/BLDC motor control fundamentals and closed loops.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout for custom PCBA designs.

Responsibilities

• Design three-phase motor drive inverters across the product life cycle.
• Support implementation and testing of motor control with controls and software teams.
• Contribute to architecture trade studies and fault tolerance analyses.
• Plan and execute lab testing including EMI and environmental qualification.
