Job summary

A leading aerospace company in Seattle is looking for an experienced Avionics Embedded Systems Engineer. The role involves designing and verifying hardware and firmware in compliance with DO-254, as well as developing embedded software per DO-178 standards. Candidates must have a solid understanding of certification processes and experience with safety-critical system validation. This is a full-time onsite position for GC holders or US Citizens only.

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Systems Engineer with strong expertise in both hardware/firmware and software development within safety-critical aerospace environments. The ideal candidate must have hands‑on experience with both DO-254 and DO-178 standards and a solid understanding of certification processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and verify hardware and firmware in compliance with DO-254 guidelines
• Develop and maintain embedded software in accordance with DO-178 standards
• Participate in system architecture, requirements definition, and traceability activities
• Support verification, validation, and certification processes for safety‑critical systems
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including systems, software, and hardware engineering
• Produce and review technical documentation required for regulatory compliance

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in the aerospace or avionics industry
• Hands‑on experience with both DO-254 (hardware/firmware) and DO-178 (software) standards (candidates with only one will not be considered)
• Experience working on safety‑critical systems with Design Assurance Levels (DAL) A, B, or C
• Strong understanding of embedded systems design and development
• Experience with verification & validation processes in regulated environments
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
