Job summary

Collins Aerospace in College Park, GA is hiring an Avionics Electronics Technician to test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic avionics equipment in alignment with Workmanship and Quality Standards. The role is a 1st shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, onsite.

You will set up precision test equipment, reprogram as needed, adjust components, perform functional tests, analyze circuits, and conduct complex disassembly/assembly repairs per service documentation.

Qualifications

  • AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in electronics maintenance or education in electronics required.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing.
  • Basic understanding of advanced test equipment functions and reprogramming.
  • Aligns and adjusts advanced electrical components to ensure proper functioning.
  • Conducts functional tests of test stations, components, equipment and systems.
  • Analyzes circuitry and wiring to locate malfunction sources.
  • Performs complex repair operations including disassembly/assembly per SB or docs.

The Avionics Electronics Technician is responsible to perform testing, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of various moderate to complex electronic / avionics equipment in accordance with Collins Aerospace Workmanship and Quality Standards, including products returned from airlines, dealers, airframes and/or end users for service under close or general supervision, depending on Labor Grade.

1st shift position with the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM.

What You Will Do:
  • Sets up and operates precision test equipment for alignment, troubleshooting and testing of electrical equipment and systems. Possesses a working knowledge of standard test equipment, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc., as well as a working knowledge of custom made test equipment, including automated test equipment.
  • Has a basic understanding of advanced test equipment functions. Capable of reprogramming equipment and determines possible failures.
  • Aligns and adjusts advanced electrical components on units being tested to ensure proper functioning of electrical circuits, utilizing established test procedures.
  • Conducts a variety of functional tests to check operation and calibration of test stations, components, equipment and systems.
  • Analyzes circuitry and physically checks wiring and operation of various electronic parts, units and systems components necessary to locate malfunction source during testing of components, equipment or systems.
  • Performs difficult electrical / mechanical repair operations consisting of disassembly and assembly of units. Determines requirements and installs modifications as set forth by Service Bulletin or other authorized documentation.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Electronics maintenance industry experience or education required.
  • Must have prior experience troubleshooting electronics equipment.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Prior experience troubleshooting to component-level.
  • Prior soldering experience in related environment.

The salary range for this role is 53,100 USD - 100,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
