Salem-Keizer Public Schools is seeking AVID Tutors to support students through small-group and individual tutorials in the AVID program. Tutors guide learners using Socratic questioning and collaborative activities to build college and career readiness.
Ideal candidates are current college students who can serve as positive role models, collaborate with teachers, and commit to regular in-person sessions in Salem.
Hourly Rate:$16.92/hr.

NOTE: If you do not have formal work history, please submit references (name, email, & phone number) for at least 2 volunteer work supervisors that you may have (ex. food share, church, team sport, babysitting, clubs, extra-curricular activities, school)
Introduction to AVID Tutorials
AVID tutorials take place in small groups that are subject area specific. AVID tutors help students achieve their full potential by facilitating collaborative tutorial groups. Tutors use Socratic questioning and collaborative learning techniques to help the students come up with the answers to their questions on their own and by working with fellow students.
