Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Software Engineer 2 for Aviation Web Development, with responsibilities spanning the Chanhassen, MN; Chandler, AZ; or Olathe, KS locations. You will build upon existing software to deliver customer-facing Garmin aviation solutions, working with Typescript, Angular/React, and MapLibre.

The role involves collaboration, code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and exploring new technologies to improve software quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with at least 1 year of relevant software experience.
• Academic record with GPA ≥ 3.0.
• Experience developing software in Typescript, Angular/React, and MapLibre.
• Familiar with software engineering tools such as CM systems, build processes, and debuggers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement moderately complex software features.
• Participate in peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Mentor Software Engineer 1 and contribute to root-cause analysis.
• Research new technologies and evaluate alternatives.
• Estimate effort and assist with process improvements.
• Support aviation product software across Garmin platforms.
