Job summary

ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) seeks a Software/Computer Engineer to join our Weather Observations Systems Subteam at MMAC in Oklahoma City, OK. The role supports FAA with ground-based weather sensor networks and displays, including AWOS and LLWAS, ensuring real-time meteorological data for air traffic control.

Candidates must be US citizens, pass FAA clearance, and be willing to relocate within commutable distance.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree.
• 6–9 years of related work experience.
• Experience with NAS facilities or aviation systems preferred.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain FAA clearance.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and evaluate requests to alter ASOS configurations.
• Draft and review Change Requests for site configurations.
• Coordinate approvals and implementations across agencies.
• Maintain Kanban boards and standardized templates for site requests.
• Minimize downtime by streamlining request management.
• Monitor field setups for siting standard violations.
• Coordinate with teams to resolve siting issues and ensure compliance.
