Job summary

AAA, United States, Inc. in partnership with a Little Rock-based contractor seeks experienced upholstery fabricators to join its aircraft interiors team.

You will fabricate, develop, sew, and cover aircraft soft goods including seats, divans, headliners, panels, and service ledges. Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years of aircraft upholstery experience, ability to read 3D models and blueprints, and to lift up to 40 lbs while wearing PPE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft upholstery experience.
• Able to set up and operate all standard upholstery equipment.
• Able to work from documentation such as 3D models, blueprints, drawings, F-standards, preparation packages.
• Must not be allergic to chemicals, solvents, paints, adhesives, fabrics, or feathers.
• Able to distinguish colors and align intricate or elaborate designs in fabrics.
• Able to lift and transport up to 40 lbs.
• Able to wear protective equipment for extended periods.
• Able to climb in and out of aircraft and work in tight spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform sewing or upholstery operations of high quality and within budget.
• Disassemble and reassemble various models of vendor passenger seats.
• Perform maintenance such as glue application, adhesive bonding, hardware, and rivet installation.
• Style a variety of foams to meet specifications/customer requirements.
• Layout, cut, and sew fabrics to produce symmetry; work with exotic fabrics.
• Develop patterns from prints, sketches, models, verbal instructions.
• Inspect, select, and work with fabrics, leathers, foams, and other materials.
• Fabricate and upholster aircraft seats and related soft goods.
• Set up and operate equipment such as routers, sanders, sewing machines.
