Job summary

Burns Engineering, Inc. seeks a Special Systems Designer to join our Aviation Technology Team in Washington, DC. The role involves performing technical engineering tasks, studies, and designs on assigned projects with mentorship from senior staff.

You will help develop design approaches, write specifications, and coordinate with CAD operators and other disciplines. The ideal candidate has a technical degree, Revit experience, and 3–5 years in low-voltage/AV/WiFi design.

Qualifications

• Two- or four-year technical degree in applicable discipline or a Bachelor's degree.
• Revit knowledge/experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years low voltage design; AV design experience preferred but not required; wifi design experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Complete discipline-specific engineering for systems of moderate complexity.
• Assist in developing design approaches and concepts with senior staff.
• Assist in development of proposals and client presentations.
• Review drawings, RFIs, and changes; communicate with suppliers and client reps.
• Perform on-site surveys and inspections during design and construction stages.
