Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking a Teardown & Evaluation Technician to support the disassembly, inspection, evaluation, and maintenance of aviation articles in accordance with FAA regulations and approved data.

You will perform teardown to expose hidden damage, identify repair requirements, and ensure component traceability throughout the maintenance process using hand tools and precision measuring equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in aviation or maintenance preferred.
• FAA A&P certification beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Disassembly, inspection, evaluation, and maintenance support of aviation articles in accordance with approved data and FAA regulations.
• Perform teardown to expose hidden damage and identify repair requirements.
• Maintain traceability of removed hardware and components through the teardown and repair process.
• Read blueprints, IPC, and maintenance manuals; interpret technical documentation.
• Use precision measuring instruments to inspect tolerances and assess wear or damage.
• Document damaged components in repair tracking systems and work orders.
