Job description

L3Harris is actively seeking an Aircraft Maintenance D (Aviation Support Equipment Technician) who will be responsible for performing major and minor scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with military T.O.s, commercial maintenance manuals, and service bulletins of aircraft support equipment. They will also provide technical assistance during aircrew de-briefs and perform towing, marshalling, and positioning of aircraft on the flight line. Additional tasks may include supporting engineering, testing, and production for the program.

Essential Functions:

• Support Equipment experience with periodic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O. specs, and engineering specifications.
• Ability to assemble close tolerance parts and use common hand tools.
• Certification to operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and portable stands without assistance.
• Work in environments with noise, moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, odors, and dust.
• Effective communication and strong motivational skills.
• Creative problem-solving capabilities.
• Willingness to work any shift (7 days a week) and overtime (up to 20%).
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 8 years of experience with NALCOMIS OOMA and ASM systems.
• Or an Associate’s Degree with 4 years of experience with NALCOMIS OOMA and ASM systems.
• Active Secret Clearance at hire.
• Must pass a Flightline physical.
• Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Knowledge of Periodic Maintenance Information Cards/Maintenance Requirement Cards.
• Experience with SE PMS, Tool Control, METCAL, IMRL, HAZMAT, and related US Navy Support Equipment programs.
