Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is offering a Summer 2027 Internship in Memphis, TN, where students will gain real-world experience by working on aviation security and process improvement projects, learn FedEx operations, and collaborate with engineers.

Interns must be enrolled or recent grads, demonstrate strong communication and analytical skills, and deliver a final presentation to FedEx Leadership summarizing work, results, and lessons learned. Onsite/hybrid options allowed.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled or within 6 months of graduation, with a 3.0+ GPA.
• Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's in engineering, math, CS, or related quantitative field.

Summer 2027 Internship:

• Availability to work 40 hours/week for a 10 week program, June 7th - August 13th. Resumes should include the following information: email address, telephone number, name of college/university, degree, major, GPA, date of intended graduation (month & year).

Job Description Summary:

• Works on projects gaining valuable, real-world experience in a professional environment as it relates to intern's field of study.

Job Specific Information:

• Tour operations to learn about FedEx processes
• Find ways to improve Aviation Security processes and procedures
• Use AI to automate repetitive tasks like reporting
• Work on and complete specific projects with other Engineers
• Develop a presentation and present it at end of summer to FedEx Leadership on work completed, results achieved, and lessons learned.

Minimum Education

• Currently enrolled student or recent college graduate (within 6 months of graduation) at a college/university obtaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Preferred enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems or other related quantitative discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work productively and proactively, both independently and as a part of a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills.
• Time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills necessary to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy to achieve daily assignments and goals.

Work/Domicile Location:

Pay Transparency:

Pay: Salary is $25/hour for undergraduates and $30/hour for graduates. A $2,000 stipend is available for those relocating over 50 miles for an on site or hybrid internship or co-op experience.
