U.S. Federal Aviation Administration in New York is seeking an Aviation Safety Technician to provide technical support to Aviation Safety Inspectors and the public, handling certification, surveillance, and investigations with research and evaluation of FAA directives.
The position emphasizes gathering aviation safety data, assisting in investigations, and delivering clear analytical recommendations to improve safety outcomes.
Incumbent serves as an Aviation Safety Technician in a Flight Standards Office providing technical support to Aviation Safety Inspectors (ASI's) and the public. Performs and/or assists with a wide range of certification, surveillance, and investigation duties requiring research and evaluation in accordance with current FAA safety directives/orders.
To qualify for this position at the FG-8 grade, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FG/GS-7 level.
To qualify for this position at the FG-9, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-E, GS-/FG-8 level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
