Job summary

The Department of Transportation seeks an Assistant Principal Oversight Inspector to support a Principal Inspector in certifying, surveilling, and inspecting air carriers, operators, and airmen, ensuring compliance with 14 CFR flight operations programs. The role involves helping develop work programs for inspection and surveillance.

Candidates must have a clean record, a valid state driver's license, English fluency, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Not more than two incidents involving Federal Aviation regulations violations in the last 5 years.
• Valid State driver's license.
• Fluency in the English language.
• No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Specialized experience in monitoring and issuing certificates to aviation organizations.
• Recency of specialized experience is waived for current FAA employees in the 1825 series.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Principal Inspector in certifying, surveilling, and inspecting air carriers, operators, air agencies, airmen, and designees.
• Help assure that assigned organizations meet 14 CFR with respect to flight operations programs.
• Assist in the establishment of work programs for inspection and surveillance.
