Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate established rules and regulations for assigned programs to ensure they meet needs
• Prepare Federal Register notices for exemptions and analyze technical input from staff
• Coordinate with other Aviation Safety and Flight Standards Organizations to develop analysis and response
• Develop policies and training standards related to certification, inspection, surveillance and operation of assigned program areas
• Participate in national and international working groups and panels to resolve safety issues
• Engage with stakeholders to promote safety and compliance related to assigned programs
• Prepare, review and draft inputs on correspondence to organizations, Congress, and the public
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to agency management and senior staff
• Collect and analyze operational and strategic intelligence from diverse sources
