Job summary

The Federal Aviation Administration seeks an Aviation Safety Inspector (AC - Flight Oversight), Assistant Aircrew Program Manager (AAPM) to support flight safety and training oversight in the United States. The role participates in ensuring aircrew ground and flight training and testing meet standards for designated aircraft and assigned carriers.

Under the Aircrew Program Manager, the AAPM coordinates program activities, oversees examiners and APDs, and advises on training program effectiveness

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Aircrew Program Manager, develops a work program to insure periodic surveillance of designated pilot and flight engineer examiners, pilot and flight engineer check airmen, and company training programs.
• Oversees company check airmen and APDs and serves as the technical advisor to the principal inspector on company training and testing programs.
• Coordinates technical instructions, policy orders, and procedures to assure uniformity of training and testing activities; conducts investigations and prepares final reports.
• Performs or assists in emergency suspension of airmen certificates and conducts re-examination of certificated airmen.
• Coordinates with geographic inspectors to accomplish nonroutine air carrier surveillance and monitors training programs for compliance with 14 CFR and directives.
