POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for increasing maintenance and avionics sales for Summit Aviation in Middletown, DE. Focus make/models include Bell 206/407/212, Eurocopter AS350, B1/B2/B3, Sikorsky S76 A/B/C Sikorsky S92 and King Air series. Focus markets include NC, SC, TN, GA, FL, AL, MS, LA. Candidate should possess strong sales skills, knowledge of turboprop and helicopter systems, and solid team skills. Strong consideration will be given to Bell series experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a sales plan based on Summit Aviation objectives and focus areas, market analysis on assigned target aircraft.
- Research and identify new prospects for the assigned role, using SalesForce CRM or Jetnet, and incorporate input from Maintenance, Avionics and Parts sales team.
- Organize sales trips to meet with prospects and set specific objectives for each trip. Follow-up with customers and provide timely verbal/written summary of results/opportunities/issues with direct manager.
- Generate sales opportunities through face to face, verbal (telephone) and written communications with the existing and potential customer base for their airframe. Emphasis and objectives are based on airframe maintenance, avionics and modifications/upgrades.
- Maintain aircraft status and customer information files in SalesForce CRM and/or other formats to support the timely pursuit of opportunities and earn customer business.
- Manage territory sales pipeline to optimize hangar workload in network facilities.
- Assist customers with budgeting and forecasting maintenance and modifications on aircraft.
- Assemble MRO work package/statement of work including maintenance due list, aircraft technical baseline configuration, functionality/integration needs for new systems/installation, supporting quoting requirements. Provide input regarding competitive situation, customer priorities, etc., to develop customized proposals.
- Research SOW items and develop quotes to meet customer needs. Coordinate avionics components with the Sales Specialist. Coordinate interior opportunities with other Greenwich companies to meet customer needs.
- Present quotes to customers; collect feedback and tailor/alter quotes to address negotiated items within limits of approval.
- Close sales with customers and collect deposit payments when required.
- Solicit feedback from customers post-departure via surveys and report findings to pertinent parties.
- Work proactively with Operations, scheduling, and Program Management teams to understand shop loading status and project lead times.
- Identify and act upon cross-selling opportunities outside MRO activity, including OTC Parts, and services from other Greenwich AeroGroup companies.
- Develop business relationships with influencers such as brokers, aviation consultants, local PAMA/business groups.
- Proactively seek new leads through networking, research, and referrals; pass along leads to appropriate salespersons.
- Stay current on maintenance, avionics, and competitive trends to upsell and create solutions for customers.
- Act as an advocate for the customer, collaborating with proposal writers, schedulers, and Service Managers as needed.
- Maintain responsibility for territory sales, forecasting, and participate in the annual budget process.
- Maintain high customer service levels, respond promptly to inquiries, and follow up post-sale.
- Participate in trade shows, handle logistics, and follow-up activities.
- Summarize results for coaching discussions and provide facility tours to create cross-selling opportunities.
- Attend sales meetings, provide input on opportunities and issues.
- Handle paperwork timely, including quotes, expense reports, and CRM updates.
- Observe safety and company rules, including housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 60% of the time and work beyond traditional hours when necessary.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Grow top line and gross profit in Aircraft Services aligned with company objectives.
- Collaborate with operational teams to meet customer needs and capitalize on opportunities.
- Manage travel and sales activities, track quotes and sales, and prepare reports.
- Negotiate terms and pricing to maximize profit while remaining competitive.
- Coordinate with Technical Services, OTC Parts, and Scheduling to ensure project success.
- Possess a thorough understanding of aircraft maintenance, avionics, and aftermarket upgrades.
- Participate actively in sales and scheduling meetings, and promote services at trade shows.
- Serve as liaison between Sales and Operations, and seek continuous growth and learning.
- Complete paperwork accurately and timely, and prepare quarterly results for coaching discussions.
EDUCATION:
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in sales/marketing or aeronautical field strongly preferred.
- 2-3 years of aviation services sales experience required.
- 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
- Bell aircraft service sales experience considered favorably.
