Job summary

Ascent Aviation Services is seeking a Junior Buyer in Marana, AZ to support material planning and procurement activities essential to operations. This entry-level role focuses on developing material plans, maintaining lead times, and tracking parts availability to ensure smooth supply chain performance.

The position offers growth as the company expands with new programs and hangars, with flexibility to work at the Marana and Tucson locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Continuing education toward CPM or APICS certification preferred.
• Experience as a Planner and/or Buyer, with aircraft industry experience strongly preferred.
• Flexibility to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Develop material plans using historical usage, forecasts, inventory policies, and other data to set min/max levels and receipts.
• Secure and maintain accurate lead times in the system.
• Track parts availability and provide status updates on materials.
• Place purchase orders aligned with material plans, including large quantity orders with staggered deliveries.
• Initiate return of early or non-conforming receipts to vendors and secure credit.
• Monitor inventory balances and disposition of inactive stock.
• Ensure vendors meet on-time delivery and provide quality products/services.
• Negotiate and maintain competitive pricing for materials.
• Maintain vendor performance data including cost, quality, and schedule adherence.
• Attend meetings and support company policies and procedures.
