Job summary

Jacobs in Los Angeles, CA is seeking an Aviation Project Controls/Management Intern for Summer 2027 to support the LAWA program management and infrastructure projects. Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field (aviation, construction, business, engineering).
• GPA 3.0 or higher and an interest in aviation management or airport operations.
• Previous internship experience in project controls, management, or related field is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dashboard tools; familiarity with scheduling software is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Your impact

Jacobs is seeking an Aviation Project Controls/Management Intern to join our Building and Infrastructure – Transportation team in Los Angeles, CA in Summer 2027, working on projects that bring innovative solutions to our clients' challenges locally and worldwide.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to gain hands‑on experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply your academic knowledge to real‑world transportation/aviation challenges, including construction, design reviews, operations, and logistical challenges of building an airport. You will assist our Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) Program Management Team in various aspects as LAWA prepares for the LA28 Olympics and beyond.

As a key member of our collaborative program support team, you’ll have the chance to work on exciting and challenging aviation projects, supporting teams with budgeting, forecasting, change management, cost management, project budget analysis, project earned value measurement, risk management, scheduling, documentation, and reporting. Leveraging your organizational and time management skills, you will assist the overall program operations, cost controls, schedule management and reporting functions by providing updates, and presentations at all levels of management.

Here’s what you’ll need

In pursuit of an Associate's degree or a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Administration/Management, Construction Management, Business, Engineering, Architecture or other related degree.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• A strong interest in aviation management, airport operations, and/or construction management
• 3.0 or higher GPA
• Previous internship experience in project management, construction management, airport operations, business administration, project controls, or another related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Skills with Microsoft Suite (including Excel), Databases (MS Access), Power BI and dashboard development
• Experience in project budgeting and planning
• Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling software experience is a plus
• Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future

The base salary range for this position is $47,800.00 to $65,000.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
