Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in New York seeks an Aviation Project Director to lead multi-discipline aviation programs from design through construction in live operational environments. You will guide project teams, manage budgets, schedule, and risk while serving as the primary client contact and stakeholder facilitator.

The role emphasizes business development, client account management, and proposal leadership to grow AtkinsRéalis’ aviation market presence in the New York Metro Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Requires 12 years' experience to include aviation experience.
• Must have a PE or be able to receive one within 6 months of recruitment.
• Experience successfully managing large-scale, complex aviation and civil projects.
• Experience with both design and construction.
• Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects in live operational environments.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including risk management, and proficiency with project management software.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline teams through the Design, Procurement, and Construction phases of aviation programs.
• Manage project lifecycles, budgets, and staff, and act as primary client contact.
• Develop program evaluation framework to assess strengths and improvement areas.
• Interface with executives, sponsors, and stakeholders to capture requirements and report progress.
• Develop business relationships and contribute to proposals to secure future projects.
