Job summary

Garmin Ltd. seeks an Aviation Product Support Specialist 2 to join our U.S. HQ team in the Greater Kansas City area. You will provide technical and sales support for Garmin aviation products and develop deep product knowledge across global airspace operations.

You will handle customer inquiries, interpret aviation data, and contribute to resolving issues with strong problem-solving and communication skills. This role requires FAA familiarity and a proactive, customer-focused mindset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED and aviation interest with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • FAA Private Pilot knowledge or license and ability to interpret aviation regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems and standard office software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic-to-moderately complex product and sales support for Garmin aviation products.
  • Respond to customer inquiries through multiple channels and determine best actions.
  • Maintain knowledge of Garmin specifications, operating procedures, and airspace systems.
  • Escalate issues when needed and document failure trends and customer feedback.
  • Support regulatory topics related to 14 CFR parts 91, 91-K, 135, and 121 as applicable.
  • Assist in warranty and service processes and ensure confidential handling of information.

Overview



We are seeking a full-time Aviation Product Support Specialist 2 at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing basic-to-moderately complex product support on Garmin aviation products, to include technical and sales support and other customer service related actions. This role also develops extensive expertise on the operation of all Garmin aviation products within the various airspace systems around the world.

Hours: Mon - Fri 7:00am - 4:00pm

Essential Functions

  • Receive and answer basic-to-moderately complex customer inquiries and requests regarding products, orders, pricing, and other services offered through multiple contact channels
  • Work with customers to determine products, accessories, and plans of action to best serve individual needs
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to manage customer emotions while maintaining professional demeanor
  • Remain current on changes in policies, procedures, and product offerings
  • Report customer experience and product concern issues affecting customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain department and company image and philosophy to the public
  • Become highly knowledgeable in the specifications, capabilities, and operation of Garmin products
  • Answer and take ownership of customer technical inquiries regarding Garmin aviation products via multiple contact channels
  • Provide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem-solving techniques
  • Monitor, document, and report failure trends in Garmin equipment
  • Identify and recommend improvements in Garmin products, documentation, and procedures
  • Review special circumstances and authorize warranty service when deemed appropriate
  • Provide operational support for Garmin’s aviation products, including detailed support of the full ranges of operation in the National Airspace System (VFR & IFR)
  • Provide guidance on regulatory topics concerning various equipment and aircraft operations under 14 CFR Parts 91, 91-K, 135, and 121
  • Provide aviation database update support for Garmin portable and panel mounted aviation products
  • Provide customer support for Garmin Aviation software applications
  • Responsible for ensuring all customer (OEM) information and Garmin business information is maintained in strict confidence consistent with the associate’s contractual confidentiality obligations as well as the Proprietary Information/Confidentiality provisions set forth in Garmin’s Associate Handbook

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience
  • 40 hours of flight time
  • 10 hours of solo flight
  • 10 hours of ground instruction
  • Passed the written FAA Private Pilot exam
  • Demonstrate interest in Aviation
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
  • Demonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  • Driven problem solver with proven success in solving difficult problems including cross-departmental troubleshooting
  • Demonstrate the ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Demonstrate proficiency and skill with data entry
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and applications
  • Private Pilot License (PPL)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Aviation Electronics background
  • Aviation maintenance experience
  • Proficiency in using and troubleshooting Macintosh operation systems
  • Aircrew member
  • Bilingual (Spanish, French, Portuguese)
  • Instrument rated pilot
  • Certified Flight Instructor
  • Other advanced aviation ratings and endorsements
