Job summary

Ardurra Group, Inc. is seeking an Aviation Planner Intern in Columbia, SC for the summer 2027. You will support engineering assignments related to planning, design, and construction of airport infrastructure, gaining real-world experience in aviation engineering.

Responsibilities include preparing plan details, assisting with specifications, cost estimates, field tests, and on-site construction oversight while collaborating with project teams under supervision.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelors in Civil Engineering or related field
• Exposure to AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred
• Interest in airport design, FAA standards, or transportation engineering a plus
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and work ethic
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team-oriented and able to work with professionals and independently
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) knowledge

Responsibilities

• Prepare plan details, outlines and design components for airport projects.
• Support preparation of technical specifications and project documentation.
• Research design options and present findings to project managers.
• Review design drawings and contribute to quality control.
• Assist with cost estimates, quantity take-offs and budgetary quotes.
• Support field tests, measurements and data collection for aviation design and construction.
• Assist in construction inspection and on-site representation during active seasons.
• Prepare daily field reports and support construction oversight tasks.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Collaborate across aviation assignments and assist with documentation needs.
