Job summary

Acro Service Corp. seeks an Aviation Painter 1 to support the paint/wet chemistry department on-site at Space Structures in San Diego. You will paint and prime various aerospace structures, working with coating materials and spraying equipment.

Responsibilities include applying coatings, mixing materials, interpreting drawings for masking, and ensuring quality per control procedures. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and obtain respirator certification. Aerospace BR127 coatings experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials using spray gun.
• Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Ability to review and interpret drawings for masking and paint/primer.
• Experience in application of aerospace coatings, BR127, BR127NC, etc.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to get certified for use with a half face respirator.
• Basic surface preparation using abrasive blast media.

Job description

Aviation Painter 1 role is to support our paint/wet chemistry department. As a member of the paint/wet chemistry department you’ll get to paint and prime a varity of aerospace structures. This position will serve on-site at Space Structures.

• Coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, varnish, enamel, lacquer, dope, or stain using spray gun.
• Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using brush or roller.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Ability to review and interpret drawings for application of masking and paint/primer.
• Experience in application of aerospace coatings, BR127, Z307, etc.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Ability to get certified for use with a half face respirator.
• Basic surface preparation using abrasive blast media.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in etching of aluminum surfaces, suing P2 or FPL etchant.
• Experience in mixing chemical etchant baths.
• Experience in chemical titration and etchant analysis.
• Extensive experience in application of BR127 and BR127NC for bonding purposes.
