What YOU will do:

To perform preparatory duties and apply primer, finish coat, firecoat and/or ablative coating to all kinds of assemblies where quality of work and thickness of coating must be held in close conformance with specifications. To perform this function in accordance with the following duties.

Responsibilities:

Works from drawings and/or sketches, written specifications and verbal information, etc., to determine exact areas of product to be primed and painted, type and color of paint and/or other material to apply. Checks to insure that areas to be painted are cleaned, masked and ready for finish. Mixes paint per specifications and thins to obtain proper viscosity, and does some color matching as required.

Performs painting on all kinds of assemblies, maintaining thickness of coating in conformance with specifications; applies adhesive coating to honeycomb parts and assemblies where thickness of coating must be controlled to designated tolerances. Sets up, adjusts and operates automatic paint spraying equipment and drying ovens. Performs touchup work on the above, when required. Maintains close check and control on viscosity of paint. May dip parts into tank and place on rack, in proper position, for drying.

Instructs and directs lower graded employees in their work.

Painter to work under firm company PPE and Title V requirements.

What YOU must bring to Succeed:

HS Diploma/GED Equivalent.

Min of three years in identical or related work.

Requires the ability to work from drawings and sketches.

Requires technical knowledge of the characteristics of brush and spray painting, ablative materials and the ability to match colors.

Salary for this role: $20.00 per hour.ST Engineering considers several factors with extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, education/training/certification, job level, and work location. Base salary is only one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.
