Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking a Paint Technician for the 2nd shift in Grand Junction, CO. You will paint and detail aircraft interiors and exteriors, with hands-on work in a fast-paced hangar environment. The role requires precision, adherence to FAA guidelines, and teamwork to meet schedules.

The position offers a 2nd shift with a 10–15% premium, paid lunch, and opportunities for advancement. A high school diploma and related paint experience are preferred, plus a valid airline travel license

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Vo-tech school in paint or on-the-job experience is preferred but not required.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal.
• Tech I: 0-2 years of paint experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
• Tech II: 2-4 years of paint experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
• Tech III: 4-6 years of experience in aviation, auto, RV, Marine or related field.
• Master Tech: 6+ years’ experience in aviation interiors.

Responsibilities

• Masking and taping aircraft parts to avoid overspray.
• Sanding primer.
• Blowing and cleaning aircraft with thinner.
• Washing the paint booth.
• Applying all layers of paint to include top coat.
• Laying out stripe and design schemes.
• Prep and scuff paint to get ready for trim.
• Re-masking aircraft and detail work.
• Inspect completed paint jobs.
• Paint mixing and paint matching.
• Communicate in English.
• Other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
