Job summary

StandardAero in Stockton, CA is seeking an NDT Inspector II to perform designated NDT inspections on gas turbine engines and components, in accordance with Repair Station Manual, FARs, and manufacturer specs.

You will document results, set up and calibrate NDT equipment, and ensure quality records for release, while coordinating with Production and Engineering to meet schedules. FAA/NAS 410 paths and MPI/FPI training are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Aerospace, Quality Control/Inspection, or related field.
• Completion of training in Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI).
• NDT Level II certification in MPI and FPI, or progress toward meeting Level II certification requirements.
• Minimum 1 year of experience performing NDT inspections using applicable methods.
• Ability to pass required examinations with average >=80% and min 70% on each.
• Ability to obtain NAS 410 certification.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical manuals, service bulletins, and instructions; operate inspection equipment.
• Must meet U.S. Person ITAR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs designated NDT and in-process inspection duties per policies, regulations, and manufacturer specs; completes inspection records and FRA 337s.
• Sets up, calibrates, and performs daily checks of NDT equipment; prepares components for inspection.
• Performs preliminary, hidden damage, progressive, final, and completion inspections on engines and components prior to release.
• Ensures inspection documentation supports product release and reporting.
• Plans workload with Production and Engineering to meet deadlines.
• Provides technical support for salvage schemes and prevents release of defective parts.
• Reviews technical data and may revise procedures to ensure compliance and quality.
• May train and mentor other NDT staff and contribute to warranty reviews.
