Job Summary:
Airswift is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) to join our maintenance team. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our aircraft operations. The ideal candidate will hold a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate and meet all regulatory and company-specific qualifications. Experience with Bell 212, Viking DHC-6 aircraft, and Pratt & Whitney PT6 engines is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aircraft Maintenance & Inspection
- Perform maintenance in accordance with company and manufacturer manuals, and FAA regulations.
- Comply with MEL procedures and complete deferred maintenance entries accurately.
- Conduct inspections and verify parts, materials, and shelf-life items are serviceable before use.
- Ensure proper documentation and signatures for all maintenance tasks performed.
- Identify Required Inspection Items (RII) and coordinate timely inspections.
- Regulatory & Safety Compliance
- Adhere to Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and operational specifications.
- Report hazardous practices or equipment and uphold a strong safety culture.
- Maintain tool calibration and ensure tools are accounted for during and after work.
- Documentation & Communication
- Maintain clear and complete records of work performed.
- Provide detailed progress reports to support shift handovers.
- Stay up to date with policy changes and procedural updates by checking Read Files at the start of each shift.
- Supervision & Leadership
- Oversee and verify the work of non-certificated personnel assigned to assist.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentorship to new team members.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
- Valid FAA A&P Certificate in compliance with FAR 65.89 and FAR 65.21
- Meets recent experience requirements per FAR 65.83
- Experience with:
- Bell 212
- Viking DHC-6
- Pratt & Whitney PT6 engines
- Strong understanding of MEL procedures and RII identification
- Ability to maintain a personal toolbox with shadowed inventory (must be completed within 90 days of hire)
Preferred:
- Inspection Authorization (IA)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field
Environmental & Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of hand tools and aviation equipment
- May involve travel to off-base locations for maintenance tasks
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in hangar and field environments with exposure to weather, noise, and aircraft fluids
- Extended periods of standing, bending, and working in confined spaces
