FedEx in Indianapolis is seeking a machinist to manufacture precision aircraft parts and tooling. The role requires hands-on operation of lathes, mills and surface grinders, with a focus on metalworking accuracy.
Applicants should have 36 months of machinist experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be prepared for rotating shifts and overtime. FAA safety rules apply, including drug testing; welding certs and OJT may be required.

Thirty‑six (36) months machinist experience in a machine shop.
Knowledge of machine shop maintenance operations and procedures required. Have a working knowledge of all aspects of machining techniques, operations, and procedures used in a machine shop environment. Knowledge and experience in the servicing of lathes, mills, and surface grinders. Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy aircraft‑related components, parts and equipment.
Must be willing to work odd work weeks, rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays. FAA covered safety sensitive position. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
Complete welding certifications and all required OJT, aircraft and machine shop training to obtain FAA repairman’s certificate 18 months from hire date.
Desired location: Indianapolis, Indiana. Employees required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.
